For Nursing Schools, managing the clinical experience process is a complicated process. Plus, attracting and keeping professional nurses willing to act as preceptors is an important factor in education and accreditation. Very little of the information is available through the campus, and it's all critical to you.
Contracts: C360 provides a Contract Management view listing all clinical site contracts, contact and special information, and related sites. Faculty can find out instantly if a site is covered or about to expire.
Clinical Sites: In addition to contract coverage, the Site Catalog tracks every location, contact, and interest for every site. You can store directions and notes to students. You can search for sites by partial name or address and get a list of sites recently used or never used. The detail view includes Notes, Contacts, and a History of all student placements. In addition, we are developing a document management library to manage all required documents, forms, and links related to each site.
Preceptors: It's important to make the process as simple as possible for the volunteers who precept. C360 organizes all of their information in one place, tracks health compliance and certifications, and provides an online web form so they can review and update their contact and service information. All placements, including site, term, and student are maintained.
Students: You can use any combination of campus download and direct entry for student information. You can also track licensure and health compliance, languages, scholastic progress, and all placements. Student Programs of Study can also be entered, allowing you to project enrollment and plan for teaching loads, clinical experience, and special projects.
Clinical Placements: This module brings together all of the pieces of the process. Once a placement is made, it's immediately linked to the student, site, preceptor, and clinical instructor. Any change to the placement automatically updates all records. From the placement, you are able to print schedules grouped by classes, site, and preceptor. And, over time, you have the entire placement history for all participants, including service hours for the volunteer faculty.
Student Experience Log: Recording the student clinical experience is valuable for course evaluation, accreditation, site review, and for the student's portfolio. The online Student Experience Log is built on top of the Clinical Placement system so that the student can record their experience from any browser. Faculty can review the student's progress, and you can report on encounters and experience across sites and timeframes.
